F 60 – Con­veyor Bridge with French charm

The "lying Eif­fel Tower of Lusa­tia" pro­vides excit­ing insights into min­ing his­tory and uplift­ing views over the Lusa­t­ian Lake­land. Weigh­ing 11,000 tons, 80 meters high, 200 meters wide and half a kilo­me­ter long, a giant rests in the south of Bran­den­burg. The struc­ture sits majes­ti­cally in the heath land­scape near Lichter­feld. The for­mer over­bur­den con­veyor bridge F60 is undoubt­edly the most spec­tac­u­lar relic of open­cast lig­nite min­ing in Lusa­tia. Every day, mine guides invite vis­i­tors to take insight­ful tours of the indus­trial giant. You climb to a height of 74 meters and expe­ri­ence not only a fas­ci­nat­ing insight into the world of coal min­ing, but also, on a clear day, a view that stretches far across the region to Saxon Switzer­land. And the bravest don't descend. They abseil down. On the F60, his­tory becomes a tan­gi­ble adven­ture. An unfor­get­table expe­ri­ence is the F60 Din­ner at a lofty height of 60 meters.
